The Sports Medicine Center physicians specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Whether you are a weekend warrior, a high school competitor, or a professional athlete, OA’s sports medicine specialists will help you regain your highest ability level to get you back in the game after a sports injury as quickly and safely as possible. Our team of orthopedic sports medicine physicians and their staff evaluates and diagnoses sports injuries promptly and implement appropriate treatment, both surgically and non-surgically. Sports injury diagnosis and treatment is also supported on-site in our MRI Center, x-ray suites, by our casting and splinting professionals, the Orthopedic Surgery Center, and Physical Therapy Center.

Sports medicine doctors at the Sports Medicine Center provide on-field clinical support to area high school, college, and professional athletic teams, including the Portland Sea Dogs and the Portland Ballet. They also serve as team sports medicine physicians for the U.S. Soccer Team. Some of the local colleges supported by OA Sports Medicine Center physicians and therapists include Bowdoin College, the University of Southern Maine, and the University of New England.
