Matt Somma, PT, DPT, CSCS, OAPT Brunswick Manager
Matthew received his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of New England in 2009. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Matthew became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Matthew worked as a strength coach in the San Diego Padres organization in 2006. He was located at their spring training complex in Peoria, Arizona where he instructed players affiliated with their Rookie ball affiliate, the Peoria Padres. While with the Padres, he was involved in training a championship team in the Arizona League.
Upon receiving his physical therapy license in 2009, Matthew worked at a physical therapy clinic in Scarborough. His focus was on surgical and non-surgical treatment of patients with spinal dysfunction.
Matthew joined OA in January of 2010 as a staff clinician at the OA Performance Center in Saco. He is now the manager of OA Physical Therapy Center in Brunswick. Recently, Matthew became a Certified Pitching Instructor through the National Pitcher’s Association (www.nationalpitching.org). He is one of three certified instructors in the state of Maine. His clinical interests include biomechanical analysis of the overhead athlete, rehabilitation of the shoulder, and rehabilitation of low back dysfunction.
Currently, Matthew resides in Gray, Maine with his wife Christie and his son Anthony.
