Michael D. Pleacher, M.D.

Sports Medicine

Dr. Pleacher completed his undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University and then earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. After completing a Pediatric residency at Maine Medical Center, Dr. Pleacher went on to complete a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Maine Medical Center in conjunction with OA Centers for Orthopaedics. Dr. Pleacher then spent 6 years out west, most recently serving as a sports medicine doctor and team physician for the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Dr. Pleacher is excited to return to Maine to practice as a sports medicine physician with OA. Additionally, he will serve as the team doctor for Bowdoin College and Brunswick area high schools, and he will continue to serve as a team physician for the US Cross Country Ski Team. Dr. Pleacher and his family enjoy the outdoor sports that abound in Maine, particularly downhill and cross-country skiing.
