Dr. Murray graduated from Springfield College in Massachusetts with bachelor's and master's degrees in physical therapy. After working briefly as a sports physical therapist, he graduated from the University of Connecticut's School of Medicine. Dr. Murray completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at UCONN and then completed a one-year sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute. Dr. Murray has published and lectured internationally on a variety of shoulder and knee topics. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Murray has served on the Executive Committee of the Maine Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, including serving as President of the organization for two years. He has also served as the Medical Director and the Interim Managing Partner at OA Centers for Orthopaedics. Currently Dr. Murray is a member of the Board of Councilors for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He serves as Head Team Physician for the Portland Pirates AHL Hockey Club, and orthopaedic consultant for the Maine Medical Center Sports Medicine Fellowship Program and the University of Southern Maine Athletic Department.
