About AAAHC Accreditation

The Orthopaedic Surgery Center is one of six physician practices in Maine to be awarded accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). This nationally recognized accreditation, which requires rigorous clinical review, is independent confirmation of the quality of care provided to patients at day surgery centers. The OSC is also licensed by the State of Maine.

Our location and size allow us to offer a more personal and comforting experience. We place special emphasis on patient education which begins at the time of the pre-operative interview and continues throughout the last phases of recovery. We make sure that all your questions are answered and that you are thoroughly prepared. On-site parking provides easy access to our facility. A comfortable family waiting room is located just outside the surgical area, and close communication is maintained with waiting family members. As soon as possible after surgery, you and our family are encouraged to complete the recovery process together. A member of our surgical team will contact you the day after your surgery to closely monitor your progress.
