Dr. McGrory graduated from Cornell University and the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital with Dr. W. H. Harris and Associates. Dr. McGrory is a clinical associate professor at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and the author or co-author of many medical journal articles dealing with osteotomies and hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. McGrory is currently one leading investigator of a national study evaluating cross-linked polyethylene, a biomaterial that could extend the longevity of total hip replacements. Dr. McGrory is medical director of the Maine Medical Center Joint Replacement Center and co-director of the Maine Joint Replacement Institute. Dr. McGrory was selected by the American Orthopaedic Association as one of four U.S. surgeons to tour the top academic centers and historical landmarks of Japan as a 2002 JAO/AOA traveling fellow. He has been selected as one of "America's Top Surgeons." Dr. McGrory is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
