Dr. Guay graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and completed post-graduate work at the University of California at Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship at the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine. He served as medical director of the Ewen Medical Clinic (Michigan) and clinical director for Upper Peninsula Rural Health Associates (Michigan). He returned to Maine in 1986 where he completed his orthopaedic residency at the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine. His residency included outrotations in spine, total joint arthroplasty and hand surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital (Massachusetts). He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association. Locally, he is a member of the Maine Osteopathic Association, the Maine Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and has been appointed an independent medical examiner for the State of Maine Worker's Compensation Board.
