George M. Babikian, M.D.

Hip Replacement and Fracture Surgery

Dr. Babikian is a graduate of Stanford University. He graduated from medical school at the University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Babikian completed a five-year, general surgical residency and was a staff general surgeon, specializing in trauma and critical care, at Erie County Medical Center. He subsequently trained in orthopaedic surgery and was awarded a fellowship from the international AO/ASIF Foundation (Association for the Study of Internal Fixation), where he served at the Regional Kantonsepital in Chur, Switzerland. Dr. Babikian is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is one of only two physicians in the country who is board-certified in both specialties. Dr. Babikian is director, division of orthopaedics, at Maine Medical Center.
