On December 8th, 1998 the new MRI arrived and was promptly and
efficiently hoisted into its new home. The initial installation went without a hitch and
within a day the outer wall was finished and sealed.
Two tons of
hardware is eased into the MRI room.
Blue sheeting covered the receiving wall
hole prior to the MRI's arrival. The remainder of the construction was complete!
The MRI
core lies in its final resting place prior to finishing off the external wall. The unit's
cosmetic case has been removed in this side view revealing some of the hardware's
complexity. The first patient was scanned on January 27, 1999.
