Sports Medicine Center: Getting You Back in the Game
The Sports Medicine Center specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries. Whether you are a weekend warrior, a high school competitor, or a professional athlete, OA will help you regain your highest ability level to get you back in the game as quickly and safely as possible. Our team of subspecialty- trained physicians and their staff evaluates and diagnoses injuries promptly and implement appropriate treatment, both surgically and non-surgically. Sports-related injuries are also supported on-site in our MRI Center, x-ray suites, by our casting and splinting professionals, the Surgery Center, and Physical Therapy Center.
Our physicians provide on-field clinical support to area high school, college, and professional athletic teams, including the Portland Sea Dogs and the Portland Ballet. They also serve as team physicians for the U.S. Soccer Team. Some of the local colleges supported by OA Sports Medicine physicians and therapists include Bowdoin College, the University of Southern Maine, and the University of New England. We also offer pre-participation sports physicals, ski injury prevention seminars, and other educational programs.
