OA Performance Center:
Testimonials

The following are testimonials from some of our clients.

"As the Associate Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach at Saint Joseph’s College I can tell you that one of the best things we have done to improve our players overall athletic ability is the Parisi Speed School at the OA Performance Center. Stan Skolfield, Adam Tielinen, Lauren Pierce and all of the others at Parisi have done a tremendous job in challenging our athletes to become stronger, quicker, and more athletic. The thing I like about this program is that it focuses on something we often neglect as coaches – building our players athletic base. Helping our players to be stronger, quicker and more athletic has translated to the baseball field – I can see it in practice and most importantly I can see it in games. Our players are now highly conditioned athletes. I have seen their flexibility and confidence improve – and perhaps most importantly the Parisi Training System has helped us to avoid injury. I like the program so much I have enrolled my son – what better recommendation can I give."
Will Sanborn - Head Baseball Coach - Associate Athletic Director - Saint Joseph's College

"My experience training at the OA Parisi Speed School with Tim has been exactly what I need as a professional quarterback. I have had the opportunity to train at the highest level facilities across the country throughout my career, and the level of instruction and quality of facilities at the OA Parisi Speed School is as good if not better than the best I have seen. I am able to train both strength, agility, and speed seemlessly throughout my workout, giving me a balanced and fully integrated workout every time. This has gone a long way toward getting me ready for some of the best seasons of my career and I am very grateful to Tim and the OA staff. I recommend this program to any young aspiring athlete with a willingness to work hard for desired results."
Quinton Porter, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, CFL

"I called OA Performance Center last fall as I was staring down the barrel at intense Triathlon and Run season with a January marathon and a July Ironman. At the age of 40, I am keenly aware of how critical strength work is to older athletes, especially women. In October I was introduced to my trainer for the year, Kelsey Pettengill.

My experience at OA has been extremely rewarding. Kelsey evaluated my strengths and weaknesses as an athlete, listened to my goals for the year, and with that information she has created a program that is both challenging and effective. Her expertise as a personal trainer has resulted in significant improvements for me. I have gained strength, power and balance. My weekly sessions at OA have supplemented my swim, bike, and running training nicely. In January, I posted a 17 minute PR at my marathon. I know that all the work I did on my run form, speed, and strength with Kelsey at OA helped me attain that goal."

Angela Bancroft - 2011 Ironman World Championships Qualifier

"The OA Parisi Speed School have played an integral part in the development of many of our baseball and softball athletes at Frozen Ropes. The professionalism of their staff, state of the art facility and the incredible knowledge they share continues to make them the most sought after training facility for all athletes. If you are looking for an advantage for yourself or your athlete, you MUST add OA Centers for Orthopaedics and the Parisi Speed School to your diet."
Mike and Lynn Coutts – Frozen Ropes Training Center

"Logan Mars success is a tribute to your program! He has increased his speed and strength dramatically in just the six months he has trained there. And he had a huge advantage in technique alone going into this combine. As a result, he has been invited to the eastern showcase combine in N.J. in mid-June. Once lacrosse season is over he will be back to being a regular at Parisi! Thanks again."
Colleen Walsh Mars, Scarborough

"The OA Performance Center was and still is the best option for my off ice hockey training during the off season. The personalization of the program targets areas that I need to work on most and I can see direct results during the season and even for in-season fitness testing with my strength and conditioning coach. Tim Gillerault is a great personal trainer and a friend outside the weight room. I owe Tim and OAPC a thank you for pushing me to the next level. OA Performance Center is the right place for me."

"I first came to OA Performance Center in summer of 2008 before the start of my junior year in high school, looking to improve speed, strength and injury prevention. Tim Guillerault developed a training program that helped me improve all these aspects. That summer was the most complete strength training and running program that I had ever done. Following a summer of training, my Junior year was by far my most successful year on the football field increasing my tackles, rushing and receiving yards, while never missing a practice or game.

Now playing college football I continue to come back to train at OA Parisi Speed School every summer. Being able to train in a tremendous facility with very knowledgeable performance coaches is a huge advantage. Which has helped me improve my strength, speed, change in direction as well as my knowledge about training and taking care of my body."

"I enthusiastically endorse the OA Performance Center to any serious athlete interested in achieving specific fitness-related goals in a credentialed environment. As a Division 1 ice hockey official, I engaged the Center this summer when my supervisor directed me to lose weight, trim body fat, and reduce my BMI. In just three months with the help of my OA performance coach, I lost over 12 lbs, trimmed my body fat percentage to 16.05%, and reduced my BMI to 22.9. While I had been an active athlete and involved in weight training for decades, I needed the OA Performance Center on my team to review my training practices and precisely fine tune/develop effective diet and nutritional habits to allow me to reach my goals."
Michael K. South Portland, ME

"My daughter began working with Tim Guillerault 3 years ago when she was a sophomore in high school. She had a dream of becoming a Division 1 soccer player for a College in the Big East. She was an accomplished player however; she needed elite training to excel in that division and conference. We needed someone who would cater to both her strengths and weakness, build a program specific to her so that when it came time for pre-season she would not only be prepared but over prepared.

A friend of hers referred her to the OA Parisi Speed School . She began to attend the classes needed to help her develop endurance, strength, speed and agility. There she met Tim and the OA Parisi Speed School staff.

Beside Tim’s specific knowledge in performance training of athletes he was also very in tune with each of the girl’s mental strength. What drives them, what will keep them going, how can I get them to push themselves? That is a very difficult task for a man to understand. Both “get it” and work to have it benefit each client in its own way. My daughter had some confidence issues and was unable to pass a couple of endurance drills in the allotted time. Tim was able to push her past that and worked her through it. When she returned to school she passed every test under the allotted amount of time with acknowledgement from both the coach and the trainer. It is that trait that makes a Performance Coach excellent.

Lastly, his outstanding knowledge of nutrition and how to incorporate every aspect of it for every type of athlete is amazing. From the big football player, to what to eat to fuel and re fuel the body. As well as a specific program and how to cater your workout and nutrition to achieve whatever result you want to achieve.

Tim and the OA Parisi Speed School has been a big part of my daughter’s life in the past several years and has helped her with anything and everything she has ask him to do. She would not have achieved her goal without his background, experience, hard work and our initial introduction to the OA Parisi Speed School."

Melissa Perrin, Gorham

"The OA Parisi Speed School has played a huge role in my athletic career. In the matter of a few years I have gained about 40 pounds, most of it being muscle because of Parisi methods. In about 5 months while working with Tim Guillerault Parisi changed me from a JV football player, to a two-way starting varsity football player in one of the top teams in the league.

I believe that the OA Parisi Speed School is different from other gyms and programs and has made me change my athletic ability so much because of its focus on every aspect of athletics; nutrition, attitude, and physical fitness. This past summer while training at the OA Parisi Speed School they had me recording and monitoring everything I ate and ever since I have kept up that same nutrition plan. This nutrition plan combined with the performance training has allowed me to continue to improve as an athlete. However like everything in life, at the OA Parisi Speed School you will get out as much as you put in."

"We chose the OA Performance Center for our high school and college athletes not only because the training delivers improved performance results but because the Coaches also focus on the athlete’s mind, body and overall well-being. They teach proper technique and injury prevention to young athletes while building self confidence, and motivate them to take their performance to the next level. Most of all, the Coaches make it an enjoyable experience so athletes keep coming back. The Training Team at OA Performance Center provides skills that will last a lifetime!"
Terry & Tracey Newton, Saco, Maine

"I have 4 children that attend the OA Parisi Speed School classes and semi-private lessons. My children have gained not only the physical benefits from a strong conditioning workout, but have also gained sound nutritional guidance from their instructors as well. The instruction they have had there has helped them to be in strong physical condition for football, hockey, soccer, and softball so that they are performing at their best. Not only do the sessions help with their chosen sports, they are habits that will stay with them long after they are done playing high school and college sports. Eating right and staying in shape are life long commitments and I always feel confident that my children are receiving top notch training at the facility. Tim and Kelsey are 2 of their favorite people there and have learned to trust their advice. I highly recommend the OA Parisi Speed School for many age groups as my children range from 14-20."
Holly Remmes, Saco

"Growing up I was always the kid hampered by injuries. Most of the injuries were the result of poor preparation, work habits, and poorly planned workouts. At OA Parisi Speed School I learned about the importance of hard work and preparation. For the first time I got on a solid training routine and had the motivation stick with it. Every visit I was taught proper lifting technique which placed less strain on vulnerable spots of my body such as the knees, and back. I liked how we mixed things up. Some workouts tested my physical ability such as the different deadlift variations and other workouts tested my mental make up like the competitions or battling ropes.

Proper preparation for my athletic season taught me that the more prepared I was for the season the better things turned out. I learned to carry this trait into other aspects of my life which has help lead me to success in those areas.

Another thing that really helped me in my training program was the nutritional strategies I learned in the Precision Nutrition program. I learned about how to eat the right foods, at the right time, and in the right amounts. I became skilled at planning and preparing my food for the entire day. As a result of the knowledge and skills I obtained at the OA Parisi Speed School I went from 185lbs when entering the program to 205lbs when I left for college in just 3 months. These folks have helped me to stay on the field. I would recommend the OA Parisi Speed School program to everyone who wants to see results and is willing to put in the work."

"Brennan has been playing football for 6 years and we saw, in Parisi, an opportunity for him to work on his total conditioning during the off-season. He has learned so much from all the trainers; he has recommitted himself to the program and his goals for the upcoming season. He likes that he can track his progress; we like that Parisi continues his fitness journey all the while encouraging his self-confidence."
Kerrie Snyder, Scarborough

"I started attending the Parisi speed school in high school and have been going there for four years. Throughout my years at Parisi I have worked with multiple strength coaches, one of which is Adam Tielinen. Adam’s laid back but ready to work attitude that he brings to the workouts makes it easy to enjoy even the toughest regimen. Adam has a great sense of humor and can relate to the people he works with. Adam is very interested in improving every athlete he works with, as he always checks in with how our games have gone to see hear the improvement. Adam is very dedicated to his work and is constantly looking for ways to improve the information he gives to his athletes. Personally Adam is always bringing new material about pitching in that can help me throw harder and prevent injury. Adam has been willing to communicate with me about strength and conditioning even when I am not currently working out at Parisi, he has emailed me pitching exercises that helps me with my rotator cuff durability and helps me warm-up before I throw. Since working with Adam I have gained over 20 pounds of good weight while greatly improving my strength and speed and my athleticism has also increased. Working-out at Parisi has increased my bat speed, arm strength and my speed. Personally I can now do 10 more chin-ups than when I first started and Parisi and my overall strength improvement can be seen in my game. The strength I have gained through working with Adam and the Parisi program has allowed me to excel at three high school sports and earn a division 1 baseball scholarship. I am currently on a strength and conditioning program designed directly by Adam that is built to improve me as a baseball player. I would, and have recommended the Parisi Speed School to other people looking to become better athletes."

"Parisi gave me confidence I never had after suffering a nine month back injury. Kelsey, my trainer, was determined to not only get me back to my normal athletic self, but become a better over-all athlete. I learned that hard work is everything. Here, with the dedication of the trainers, I achieved more personal goals than I set. They believe that you can do those two more pushups or jump two more inches. The programs are designed with you in mind. It’s not easy, it’s hard work. If you’re willing to put the time and effort in it’s totally worth it. I’ve seen my results , reaching Level 8, and I’m thrilled. Thanks to Kelsey pushing me and encouraging me, I have become the best athlete I can be. I couldn’t have done it, without Parisi!"

"Devin has been taking Strength and Conditioning classes for 3 months and has seen an improvement in strength and flexibility. This year he has moved to a bigger field and heavier bat for baseball. The training and conditioning has given him the strength to throw from 3rd to 1st and both endurance and strong hips for hitting.

The staff is always friendly, helpful and encouraging. Devin feels comfortable participating in the classes. From day one, he talks about the facility amongst his friends and family. He only complains when he can’t come to a workout. Both his mother and I have recommended Parisi to families and friends in hopes that they will see the difference Parisi makes in their child.

Martha Butler, Standish

"The time I spent training at OA allowed me to grow as a an athlete, and also as a person. Each workout, each exercise, pushed me to perform at a new level. When I first started attending OA, I couldn't even complete 1 chin-up. However, by the end of my time at OA, I could complete 8 chin-ups. With dedication, hard work, and proper guidance, I was able to reach new levels in my training for collegiate soccer. OA helped me improve in all aspects of my training, and I would not be where I am without this training. I would highly recommend this program to anyone that wishes to receive great training, and to those that wish to improve in all aspects of athleticism. OA builds the foundation for proper training and fitness, and they work with the individual to yield the most ideal outcomes possible. OA was the best thing that happened to me prior to college soccer, and I would never have been ready for collegiate soccer if it weren't for OA."

"OA Parisi Speed School has definitely made me a better basketball player. All of the coaches at Parisi are eager to help you improve in your sport and bring you to success. I used to be one of the slowest players on my team, but now I am the first one down the court! I would absolutely recommend Parisi to anyone who not only wants to become a stronger and faster athlete, but a more confident one!"

"My 17 year old son who plays hockey enrolled in the summer Parisi Speed School program this past summer and the results were remarkable. He saw his overall performance enhanced on all fronts. Stan Skolfield identified early that my son had a curvature of his lower back and readjusted his approach to squat lifting. My son also became much more informed on proper nutrition and hydration. I would recommend to anyone who is interested in improving their speed and strength in an intelligent an effective manner to consider this program."

"Like many, I found my way to the OA through physical therapy. As a business-person, wife and mother, I spent the last 20 years caring for people around me and lost ground with my own personal fitness and well-being. I chose OA Performance Center because I needed to get my physical life back in order. Tim Guillerault, OA Performance Coach, reminded me how important it is to take care of my own personal health and well being if not always first, than often. He designed and led a program for adult beginning athletes and provided nutritional insight that led me down a new path of improved health and physical fitness. Equally important, he provided encouragement and leadership to work harder than I had ever worked before. Not only did I get my physical health back, but I feel better, look healthier and have renewed energy! Thank you Tim, for being a Motivational Coach as well as Performance Coach!"

"The OA Parisi Speed School and Kelsey Pettengill have taught me to be the best I can be both on and off the ice. I love the workouts. Kelsey is constantly changing up my routine so I never get bored and constantly progress. Not only have I gotten stronger and faster, I have also learned how to fuel my body to get the best results. I love my training at the OA Parisi Speed School and miss it during the school year when I am away at Westminster."

"For the last two years, our Women's Lacrosse Program at the University of Southern Maine has worked closely with the OA Parisi Speed School to train and prepare for our season year round. As a collegiate coach I was looking to add an element to my program that takes my team above and beyond their competition. The staff has been very professional and knowledgeable; we learn so much from them every time we have the opportunity to work together. They are inspiring just to be around and I can see my athletes' focus intensify when in their presence. Our tryout each season begins with a six o'clock a.m. Fitness Evaluation that has been instrumental in setting the tone for the Championship season we strive for every spring.

They work with us throughout the year in different phases of our training and have set up solid workout regiments that are specific to our sport. Last season we went all spring without one injury. I believe there is a direct correlation between our success and health on the field and the work we did together with the OA Parisi Speed School. Five of my athletes went All Conference together last spring which was a program high for USM Lacrosse. I look forward to continuing to train with the OA Parisi Speed School every season to come. They play a major role in our lacrosse culture at USM now. I highly recommend their services and expertise to all coaches and athletes who want the most out of the time they put into their specialization."

Lauren Reid, Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach, University of Southern Maine

"If you want results and you need someone to keep you on track & push you look no further than Greg Hatheway at the OA Performance Center. After suffering a knee injury in a tennis tournament and having surgery, I lost most of my strength in my right leg. Greg took over my rehabilitation and has been helping me make the leg as well the rest of me stronger so that I can be competitive on the tennis court again! Greg makes each training session different and challenging and knows how to make me get the most out of each session! If you are looking to get stronger, faster, gain flexibility and have more co-ordination then give Greg a call, he'll get you carrying & swinging kettle bells, pulling sleds of weights, and doing speed ladders in no time!"
Tracy Macnider

"Being a Division 1 Athlete, it can be difficult to find a resourceful place to train other than the school you attend during the season. But I found out that OA Performance Center was the perfect ingredient that I needed to prepare myself for next season. It was a great fit for me because I was able to work and build a relationship with the trainers there especially Tim Guillerault because he worked with us on a daily basis. Things worked out well because at the start of our training I had specific goals that I wanted to reach before going back to my respected college. Not only did my numbers increase drastically in the weight room, but it has transferred over onto the ice where I am having a successful season. Tim Guillerault was a great resource to me because he has a lot of quality knowledge about every aspect of training: lifting, sprinting, nutrition, etc. Any time I had a question, Tim took the time to listen and give me an answer that I was able to comprehend and take into affect during my weeks of training. Whether it be a question of why am I doing this exercise or what can I do to lower my body fat, he was able to guide me with the right steps to having a successful summer of training. I am a more physical player who has had trouble with quick feet and my 40 yard sprint and 5-10-5 quickness. After working out at OA, I made big gains and my coaches were very impressed on how prepared I was for the start of the season. I even managed to get 16 personal bests in all my testing at the University of Maine to make the PB All-Star Club which gave me a lot of confidence going into the hockey season. I would definitely recommend training at OA Performance Center because, personally, it was an extremely successful training session that I received from them and I look forward to working with OA in the future."

"Over the past couple years, I have had the chance to get to know and train with Kelsey. Being a serious, competitive athlete, it is not easy to impress and challenge me with training techniques, but Kelsey has done just that. Kelsey understood my need to be challenged and pushed me further than any other coach or trainer would. Even though I was being pushed to work my hardest, Kelsey still made it a positive and fun experience. While working with Kelsey, my form improved tremendously and my speed is faster than ever. Even on my worst days, Kelsey never doubted my abilities and the Parisi team worked hard to keep me healthy. Kelsey gave me the power to out run my competition and I would recommend her training program to any athlete who wants to gain that extra edge."

"I have been training at the OA Performance Center for 2 years, and I have never met someone with more class and professionalism as my trainer Greg Hatheway.

When I first decided on private training lessons, Greg was a new trainer and I had not met him yet. But as soon as I met him I felt the welcoming and compassion that he exemplifies. If I could choose any trainer to train with on this planet it would be Greg.

Things often get tough when I'm training with him, but his personality and kindness get me through it. He has all the knowledge and skills to get anyone faster and stronger, and has the type of personality to train with anyone that asks.

Greg is not only a tremendous trainer, but an even more magnificent person. The thing is, he's the type of guy that can make you a stronger person and a better person, and that’s a tough find. But the OA Performance Center has found it in Greg Hatheway."

"My teenage sons, Donnie (age 16) and Pete (age 15) have been training at the OA Performance Center/Parisi Speed School for the past year or so. The boys are multi sport athletes and participate in football, track & field, swimming and wrestling. Traveling from our home in central Maine, nearly 3 hours from the Center, to the training sessions isn't always easy but the investment has more than paid off for us. Our Performance Coach at OA, Greg Hatheway, is very accommodating to our specific needs and has certainly made a significant impact in the way we view training, technique and nutrition. The results that the boys have experienced so far have been very impressive and speak very loudly to the success of the OA/Parisi experience. Greg's expertise and the individual attention that he provides each athlete couples well with the OA/Parisi proprietary training programs. This past football season, the boys were clearly at the top of their game as their newly acquired speed, strength, agility and explosiveness propelled Donnie to be a dominant player in our league (as a junior) and Pete to be the only freshman on our team to earn a varsity letter. Currently participating in indoor track, Donnie is one of the top jumpers and sprinters in Northern Maine and Pete is not far behind. I look forward to the boys' continued athletic success through the remainder of their high school career and into college. I'm sure that Greg has a few tricks up his sleeve to help keep the progress going."

Thank you so much to Greg and the OA staff for providing the boys with the opportunity to maximize their potential and for giving me the enjoyment of watching them do so!"

Don Boyer, Dover Foxcroft, ME

"I am a senior athlete, age 66, who participates in senior track events including the 100, 200 and 400 meter dash. I compete in state, national and world events and am the current state champion in my age group for the above track events. In 2011 I was preparing for my fifth national senior Olympic appearance since 2001. I went to the OA Parisi Speed School who assigned Gregory Hathaway as my Performance Coach. After three months of intensive training including speed work, start skills, proper warm up, and sprinting technique I felt ready to compete in the national event, followed by my state senior games. In that national event I had my best appearance in 10 years, with three top 10 finishes out of four events and my best 400 time in two years. When I returned to the state of Maine I won the state championship in all three events in my age group.

There is no question that my improved performance is due in great part to the training and motivation I received from Greg Hathaway. His knowledge of speed techniques and motivational skills made the difference. Of significant importance to someone my age is proper warm up, to prevent injury. In every event the thing I fear most is not performing well, it is injury. Thanks to Greg's knowledge of the human body, my warm up routine and training regimen, set up by him, are now standard for me. Finally, I have renewed confidence in my ability to compete in the high speed events that have become my specialty."

Ellsworth Rundlett, State, National and Huntsman world senior sprint medalist

"Dear OA Parisi Speed School Performance Staff,

Sarah is starting for her freshman soccer team and they are off to a 2-0 start. They had her practice with the Junior Varsity. She plays practically the entire game. They had her run a fitness test during summer sessions and she came in 2nd... that includes all the varsity members of the team. Jack tried out the last two weeks for the U17 AAU Basketball team... and made it! Let me tell you, he is a different guy out on the court this year. He is faster, quicker, stronger and far more aggressive. He gained a ton of confidence in himself over the course of the summer under your direction. The AAU kids he plays with are extremely talented but Jack is willing to box out and rebound along with playing smart defense and the coaches appreciate what he brings to the table. A couple of his high school coaches saw him and couldn't believe the change (both physically and mentally). After the coaches notified him he was selected, Jack said to me "Dad, no way I would have made it without Greg and everyone at Parisi." He's really looking forward to improving his game and trying out for the Belmont High School Varsity team in November. My nephew, Danny, is playing Junior Varsity football at Belmont Hill but his season hasn't started.

All is well down in Belmont, MA. I can't thank all of you enough for the job you did with Jack and Sarah. I can't tell you how many people have come up to me this fall and said "What did Jack and Sarah do this summer? They've changed!" I always tell them about your collective efforts. Hope and trust all is well. Jack and Sarah will be back next summer along with their younger sister Grace and brother Paul. Be well."
