Stan Skolfield, ATC, CSCS
Manager/Performance Coach
Stan is the Performance Center Manager, as well as a Performance Enhancement Specialist. He received his Bachelors degree in Athletic Training at the University of Southern Maine and is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Prior to his role as the Performance Center Manager for OA he worked in the physical therapy department for 8 years. His work encompassed the entire spectrum of athlete services, from post surgical rehabilitation to performance based post rehabilitation training. Stan specializes in the injured throwing athlete and returning them back to competition. His knowledge of analyzing and correcting throwing mechanics has helped hundreds of athletes return to the field.
Earlier in his career Stan worked for the Boston Red Sox organization as an Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach and was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Southern Maine.
Tim Guillerault, CSCS, CPT, USAW
Performance Coach
Tim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health Education from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2000. After completing his degree, Tim spent several years as a Health Educator and Personal Trainer.
In 2004, Tim received his Master’s degree in Exercise Science from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. While pursuing his degree, he spent time at Lafayette College as a Strength and Conditioning intern. Upon completion of his Master’s degree, Tim joined the University of Maine Black Bear athletic department as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. At UMaine, he worked with all athletic teams, including the nationally-ranked Men’s Hockey team.
For the last nine years, Tim has played rugby, from the collegiate level to the highly competitive Division One Men’s Club level. He also continues to be active in adult basketball and softball leagues.
Tim has coached rugby at the collegiate level, and basketball and baseball at the youth and high school levels.
Tim is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer, both through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a USA Weightlifting Certified Club Coach.
Lauren Pierce, ATC, CSCS
Performance Coach
Lauren Pierce graduated from the University of Southern Maine in May 2007. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Department of Sports Medicine) in Athletic Training. Lauren is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Most recently, Lauren utilized her strength and conditioning expertise as a Personal Trainer for Natural Fitness (private fitness center; Falmouth, ME). In this role, she specialized in the design and implementation of client-specific training regimes.
Additionally, Ms. Pierce has consulted for both the University of Southern Maine and Colby College. This assignment was specific to the Women’s Ice Hockey programs. Lauren authored a comprehensive training system which she designed exclusively for Ice Hockey and critically tailored to fit a collegiate female athlete.
Ms. Pierce holds a Double Gold Test status as designated by the USFS (United States Figure Skating). In addition, during her four years at the University of Southern Maine, Lauren was a member of the Women’s Ice Hockey team. As a competitive figure skater and collegiate ice hockey player, Lauren has developed a keen understanding of the requirements necessary for an athlete to be both mentally and physically prepared.
Adam Tielinen, BS, CSCS
Performance Coach
Adam received his BS in Kinesiology and Physical Education from the University of Maine, Orono in 2001.
Adam has worked closely with various athletes of all different sports and levels including Maine Coast United (MCU) Soccer and Maine Select Hockey teams. He was a guest speaker for the Maine Chapter of the Professional Golfers’ Association on golf conditioning and program design. He has also assisted in United States Tennis Association (USTA) sanctioned events where he performed strength and speed tests for high school tennis players across the state. Adam has also worked with several tri-athletes on areas such as strength training, program design, nutrition, and injury prevention.
His passion for athletics is shown through his knowledge and enthusiasm in the strength and conditioning field. Adam is a member and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Justin Parent, CSCS
Performance Coach
Justin Parent graduated from Elon University in 2009 where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise & Sport Science. Justin is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as well as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the NSCA.
While completing his undergraduate work Justin was employed as a Personal Trainer for the Elon University community. Justin was able to work with a diverse spectrum of clients in which he evaluated and designed client specific exercise programs for. Justin also had the opportunity to volunteer as an intern with Coach Ethan Reeve and the Wake Forest University Division 1 Men’s Football team within the Strength and Conditioning Department. While at Wake Forest Justin observed and helped implement the off season strength and conditioning program.
His passion lies within sports and the ability to help athletes achieve their athletic and personal goals through proper training and knowledge.
Kristi Knights, BS (Not pictured above)
Performance Coach
Kristi earned her Batchelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, with concentration in health, at the University of Maine in Orono. While at the University of Maine, Kristi played on the women’s field hockey team and was awarded All-American honors twice. Upon graduation, Kristi worked as a personal trainer at Lifestyle Fitness Center before being hired as an Exercise Specialist for a corporate fitness company. As an exercise specialist, Kristi is able to establish a baseline fitness level and design and conduct workouts for individuals. She has also instructed various group fitness classes. Kristi joined OA in 2004 and enjoys working as a Clinical Assistant with a sports medicine physician, Dr. D. Scott Marr.
Her enthusiasm and passion for athletics has always been evident with her continued participation in various activities, team-oriented or individual. When her Division I field hockey career came to an end, she became active in local road races, training for half and full marathons. Currently, Kristi trains and competes in Fitness Figure competitions on a national level.
Kristi’s broad knowledge of nutrition makes her a valuable asset to any organization. She also truly enjoys all aspects of teaching others the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, building a solid foundation by training properly, and appropriate nutrition to benefit performance.
