Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microsurgery
Dr. Chance graduated from Williams College (Massachusetts) and Columbia
University College of Physicians and Surgeons (New York). He served his residency in
general surgery and orthopaedic surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New
York City. During his residency, Dr. Chance was a visiting hand fellow at the New York
Orthopaedic Hospital at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Chance completed a
one-year fellowship in hand surgery at The Hand Rehabilitation Center of Thomas Jefferson
Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of
Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
He has also obtained a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery.

Dr.
Matthews graduated from Amherst College and the College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Columbia University. He served his residency in orthopaedic surgery
at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, the teaching hospital of Columbia
University. Dr. Matthews completed a one-year fellowship in micro, hand and upper extremity surgery at the
New York University Hospital
for Joint Diseases. He is
certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has obtained a
Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery. Dr. Matthews is a Fellow of the American Academy of
Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
